On March 31, 2016, the world unexpectedly lost one of its brightest stars. A revolutionary who redefined architecture for her generation, dame Zaha Hadid left behind a body of work that is and will remain an inspiration to those within her field, as well as countless others well beyond it. We were privileged to secure Ms. Hadid’s formidable talents for the design of One Thousand Museum, a project we began with Zaha Hadid Architects in 2013. We are deeply committed to ensuring that the single residential skyscraper she designed in the western hemisphere during her lifetime will live up to every expectation she had for it. Over the past 30 years, Zaha Hadid has become internationally renowned for her revolutionary designs of sensuous, soaring buildings that push the limits of innovation and blur the lines between art and architecture.
Headquartered in London, Zaha Hadid Architects has designed high-profile properties worldwide, including the London Aquatics Centre for the 2012 Summer Olympics; the Guangzhou Opera House; the Vitra Fire Station; the Rosenthal Center for Contemporary Art; the BMW Central Building; the MAXXI National Museum of the 21st Century Arts; the Eli and Edythe Broad Art Museum; and the Evelyn Grace Academy.
