A bright Miami Beach residence belonging to late starchitect Zaha Hadid recently landed a new owner—fetching $5.75 million in the process.

The three-bedroom, four-bathroom home in the W hotel and condo tower at 2201 Collins Avenue was personally redesigned by Hadid in 2009. The 2,500-square-foot space, created by combining two smaller units, boasts the clean lines and futuristic sculptural forms found throughout much of the pioneering Iraqi-British architect’s work. An open floorplan and a corner balcony provide sweeping oceanfont views.

The Pritzker Prize-winning designer unexpectedly passed away in the spring of 2016 at age 65. Hadid’s condo hit the market the following year seeking a cool $10 million. The recent $5.75 million sale was represented by Angelica Garcia and Ivan Chorney of One Sotheby’s International Realty with David Pulley of Douglas Elliman representing the unidentified buyer.

Zaha Hadid used her SoBe condo primarily as a vacation home but also as base of operations while working Miami’s One Thousand Museum. The striking 62-story skyscraper with a curvaceous exoskeletal structure is Hadid’s first and final residential high-rise in the western hemisphere. It is on track to open later this year.
